reid let's it die in the senate. that brings me to today's f-bomb. well the gun junkie lobby has decided where to place the blame for gun violence in a society where it's really easy to get guns. it's at axis of scapegoats. let's look at the games first. yesterday, senator lamar alexander actually said that violent video games are bigger problem than guns. i'll never forget my first day in new york and i was in an alley israel and a raving manback jumped out and threw an atari 2600 q-bert game directly at my heart. countries with the highest video game consumption are really quite safe. is studies have proven that watching violent video games make children more aggressive, but only one country has this type of gun violence. it's got to be the violent movies. when is hollywood going to answer for all the make believe answer causing all the violence across the world. joe scarborough who i like has been going off on quentin tarantino and calling him a jack ass for releasing "django unchained"ded". let's

some republicans were upset that harry reid said he wasn't going to honor a hold. what you're seeing here from republicans is a play to make sure that they flex a little muscle so that the democrats understand that the president's agenda has to go through them and that's on guns, on immigration. i agree with david. i think this will get done but it's never great for a nominee to have to wait another week to hang out there and take shots from opposition. it's not a great place for them to be but i'm not worried that this is not going to get through but this is the flexing of the muscle by republicans in the senate for sure. >> okay. so hagel gets blocked at least for now. rand paul and others are threatening to block john brennan. susan rice didn't get to the nomination process. is this rocky road if that's how we want to describe it, david, does this hurt the president's credibility or at least his ability to get things done, a small distraction, should it become a smaller one? put it into the wider con tech in terms of what the white house want to be accomplishing

what's maddening about this, to watch harry reid complain about it is a little much. he had a chance to do something and he bailed. he basically had this gentleman's agreement with mitch mcconnell. the president is saying we now have this de facto 60-vote rule. exactly. that's what advocates o reforming the filibuster in a muscular way you write in the rules are saying this is the tendency that there is nothing to interrupt this tendency right now. there's nothing in the norms of the institution. there's nothing in the actual rule, short of changing them, that is going to stop this. there's all the incentives for more of this to happen. so i'm sorry, it's a little hard for me to be particularly sympathetic to harry reid when he gets up there saying oh my god, look at these people abusing the filibuster. yeah, that's been the case, you had a chance to do something about it and didn't. >> republicans look at jim demint retire and replaced immediately with a possibly crazier senator from texas, ted cruz. john mccain was outraged that cruz questioned the patriotism, the l
